Ify Onwuka Share This: Raccoon Eyes? No thank you! – Quick Fix for Dark Circles

I was at a client location recently, (with one of the most amazing families I have ever met on the job, very pleasant and polite) and the sister to the bride walked up to me and complained bitterly about the dark circle under her eyes and I told her how to do a quick fix.
There are different things that can cause Preorbital Dark Circles and they are;

1) allergies
2) sun exposure which can cause the skin to produce excess melanin
3) hereditary discoloration
4) excessive smoking and alcohol intake
5) stress/fatigue
6) anemia- lack of necessary nutrients in diet
7) liver problem, etcetera
First step is to use your foundation all over your face so that you see how much of the dark circle it covers.
Then Apply a corrective concealer to the problem area. A corrective concealer is not the regular kind you come across every day, they come in different colours like yellow, orange, green, blue, olive etc though it may look funny, it does a perfect job in neutralizing the colour of the problem area. If the dark circle under your eyes appear bluish (this is common in dark skin), its best to use an orange tone concealer to neutralize it, if its brown in colour go for a blue toned concealer, if its purple in colour, a yellow toned concealer will do the job and if its red in colour go for a green or olive coloured concealer.

After applying your corrective concealer, set it with a translucent powder and then apply your regular concealer in your skin tone over it.
Use eye shadows that brighten the eyes on your lid, colours like soft gold or beige and top off with a mascara so as to direct attention away from the problem area.

Avoid lining your lower lid with a black pencil, if you must line your lower lid, go for a golden brown or even white coloured eye pencil.

Please note that this tip is just a way to cover up dark circles, if you feel that the cause of your dark circle is health related, make sure you contact your primary physician for diagnosis and treatment.
I hope this has been able to help. Have a blessed day.
Yours beautifully,
Ify Onwuka.
