1. The Peoples Democratic Party has called on former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar to be ready to play by the rules if he eventually he joins the opposition party.
Mr. Atiku dumped the ruling All Progressives Congress Friday morning. There are strong indications of his imminent return to the major opposition party.
According to Walid Jibrin, chairman of the PDP Board of Trustees, the party’s field of presidential contenders has expanded in recent weeks, and Abubakar should expect a rigorous competition for the party’s presidential ticket.
2. The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, National Caretaker Committee Chairman, Senator Ahmed Mohammed Makarfi, has disclaimed reports of his perceived presidential ambition.
The PDP chairman said he has not solocited to anybody to talk on his presidential ambition, stressing that his focus is the PDP national convention that is coming.
3. There are reports that Former vice-president, Atiku Abubakar, has been holding series of meetings with leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Atiku has reportedly met with Adamawa PDP executives at all levels, as well as state chairmen from the six states that constitute the North-East.
4. The Buhari Support Organisation (BSO), Sunday appealed to Nigerians to stop distracting the President from laying the solid foundation for physical and social infrastructural development in Nigeria.
According to the BSO, two groups of Nigerians who clandestinely pose as patriots, have been distracting President Buhari.
5. The Department of State Security, DSS, Sunday evening released Spokesman of the Ijaw People Development Initiative, IPDI, Daniel Ezekiel after one year and three months of his arrest..
IPDI National President, Comrade Austin Ozobo, stated that no money was paid to secure the bail of Daniel Ezekiel, noting that he was freed after a panel set up by the DSS found him innocent of every crime and offences levelled against him by the Okenrenkoko community leader, Chief Michael Johnny.
6. The deadly cult group operating at the Ikorodu area of Lagos State, Badoo, has struck again, killing a Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) Pastor, Victor Kanayo and his family.
It was gathered that the assailants cut the iron bars on the window of the bungalow the family lived in before entering the house on Sunday.
7. The All Progressives Congress, APC, in Enugu State, on Sunday warned the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, against engaging in any form of electoral violence in the 2019 general elections.
The APC said no amount of political thuggery, harassment, attack, and intimidation would make its members run away from the political environment in the state.
8. President Muhammadu Buhari said on Sunday that Boko Haram’s wicked methods of using innocent children for suicide bomb attacks on soft targets are “the last kicks of a dying horse’’.
Buhari, had at the commissioning of the Pulaaku Radio Station in Yola, Adamawa, reiterated that Boko Haram had been degraded.
9. Former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, has accused President Muhammadu Buhari of being a ‘shape shifting reptilian’.
In a series of tweets on Sunday night, Fani-Kayode also described Buhari’s administration as “Archon.”
10. The Borno State Government has announced plans to convert the house of the former leader of Boko Haram sect, Mohammed Yusuf, to a museum.
Dr. Mohammed Bulama, state Commissioner for Home Affairs, Information and Culture, also revealed that the Sambisa Forest, which used to be the insurgents’ haven, will be turned to a tourist site after being fully stabilized.
